How does the ballerina dress sizing work?
There are several sizes available depending on the look you are going for.
Small: a 2 layered dress suitable for roughly newborn through to 1 year old. (Will look very full on a newborn and more like a tutu on a taller infant)

Size small on a newborn

Size small on an 8 month old

Size small on a 1 year old
Medium: A 2 layered dress suitable for roughly 1 year old through to 2 1/2 years old. (Will look full on a small infant and more like a tutu on an older/taller toddler)
Large 2 layer: A 2 layered dress suitable for roughly 1 1/2 through to 4 years old. (Will look full on a small toddler and more like a tutu on an older/taller child)

Size large 2 layer on a 2 year old
Large 3 layer: A 3 layered dress suitable for roughly 1 1/2 through to 4 years old. (A much fuller longer dress than the standard 2 layer dress, great for photography but might catch leaves and ground debris due to it’s length on a smaller child.)

Size large 3 layer on a 3 1/2 year old

Size large 3 layer on a 2 1/2 year old

Size large 3 layer on a 2 year old
How is the ballerina dress worn?
The easiest way to put the dress on is to scrunch the body part of the dress and tulle so that you can stretch it and pop it over the head or get them to step into it like a skirt.

Don’t be afraid to scrunch it!
After you’ve popped it on you can straighten the skirt by running/combing your fingers through it.
There are different ways that you can tie the dress. Here are a few example but feel free to experiment to see what works best for you.

Tie it in a bow at the base of the neck like a halter neck.

Put in a crossover then thread it through the gaps and tie into a bow.

Thread the straps through the holes on the back and tie them in a bow. This can give the dress more shape at the front and keep it from slipping down too much.

Thread it in a crisscross pattern down the back and tie into a small bow at the bottom.

How do I care for the dress?
When you receive your dress the tulle may look crumpled, that’s ok! You can straighten out the tulle skirt by running/combing your fingers gently through it to shape it how you like.
The straps can also be gently ironed if need be by placing a cloth over the top and using a cool setting on the iron. Go gently and check often to make sure you don’t melt the ribbon!
If the dress needs cleaning remove any debris that may be caught in the skirt and hang it up somewhere. Gently squirt water on the skirt with water or a super mild soapy water mix and run your fingers through the tulle. Once clean, comb your fingers through the tulle skirt to shape it and let it air dry.
