Fuzzy little buddies

One thing I’ve discovered since having kids is that they become so attached to their lovies, they rarely go anywhere without them…. Which means they get washed… Often.  I’ve found that the trick is to have a backup for wash day so they don’t miss their little fuzzy friend. Remember to rotate them regularly so they wear at the same rate or your littlie might just catch on that it’s not the same lovie!

A moment to pause

It’s been a  busy night sewing away for another custom order sneaking in just before Christmas… A set of clips ready to be popped into their bags and off they go!

The beauty of sewing is that it brings a moment of calm and stillness in the middle of this crazy season. A moment of respite from the mad rush that is the end of the year. Do yourself a favour and don’t forget to find a moment to pause!

It’s that time of year again!

I love this time of year, there is an intense energy buzzing around as people start to realise that the end of the year is drawing ever closer. There is also this insane mix of manic rushing to get Christmas sorted and at the same time this excited joyfulness of the festive season and looking forward to spending time with family.

So in the spirit of manic rushing and festive joy it’s time to start making some festive accessories… Christmas hair bows are in the making!

Road testing the ballerina dress

The weather has been stunning the last few days so I took the opportunity to road test one of the ballerina dresses. It encountered the wrath of 4 different bouncing toddlers (ages ranging from 20 months to 3 years old) over 2 days, and it survived well and truly! The energetic toddlers got so excited by the dress that they all just took off running and didn’t stop! The dress encountered running, rolling in the grass, climbing on rocks and rough boulders, hiding in the bushes and even getting soaked with water down the front.  I pulled the leaves and debris that it collected and straightened it out with my hands and it’s as good as new. The mannequin is modeling the aftermath.

It’s all in the details

Such a busy life, it’s easy to get carried away by all the big things. Sometimes it’s worth stopping to take a deep breath and pay attention to the little details around us.

So today it’s all about the little things in life, the things that our littlies are good at noticing. Stopping to smell the flowers, inspect a new bug, collect some interesting leaves, reveling in the little things that make up our wonderful world.

Now back to having some fun creating the small details!
Happy Monday everyone!
